The Califa is a stunning hotel, dating back to the 10th century when Vejer was under Moorish rule. It offers a variety of comfortable rooms from a single to a suite – some with fantastic views. All are en suite with baths, power showers, safe, TV etc. Adjacent to The Califa, is The Triperia which boasts a swimming pool with views and a sun terrace. Breakfast is taken in the gorgeous terrace garden. Our group will be visiting here for dinner one evening. The Califa is situated in Plaza d´España – an 8 minute stroll from Casa Alegre.

Managed and lovingly restored to its former glory by owner/managers Nigel & Netty, Escondrijo is a small boutique hotel tucked away within the maze of narrow cobbled streets. It offers 2 lovely en suite double rooms, with lovely private terraces. There is also an additional beautiful communal terrace. Just 6 minutes away from Casa Alegre.

The latest edition to Vejer´s small collection of fabulous places to stay is Hotel V… opened Easter 2008 and the most luxurious of all the hotels. The building has been carefully and beautifully restored and boasts the most spectacular roof top terrace with almost the best view in Vejer – Casa Alegre just pips it to the post! With the exception of 1 twin, all rooms are double and are luxuriously appointed. It will take you just 5 minutes to reach the kitchen of Casa Alegre by foot after your delicious breakfast in the Hotel V courtyard.

For those of you who prefer to be totally independent, the beautifully decorated La Janda apartments are just a 3 minute walk from Casa Alegre. The apartments include a small kitchen area and fridge for making your own breakfast but if that feels like too much effort you can always saunter into any one of the many local bars.
Please note:
- All prices are inclusive of tax and breakfas. Except for Hotel V… where it is at an extra charge of €9,000 and Casa Amaro where there are cafés galore on the doorstep should you not wish to prepare your own.
- All hotels and B&Bs in Vejer charge by the room so hence the great difference between cost per head of single occupancy and 2 sharing.
- Only the Califa features single rooms – everywhere else they are double or twin.
- Only the Triperia at The Califa offers the use of a pool.
