I love Tangier, and have visited dozens of times over the years. As an introduction to the Moroccan way of life, a day spent here is a must, especially as it’s so close.
It took me a little while to scratch beneath the surface and appreciate just how fascinating a city it actually is. Although only 45-minutes away, as soon as you disembark the ferry, you are transported into another world. Instantly you will be struck by the hustle, bustle of people getting on with their daily life, the vibrant colours and scents of the spice souks, wafts of sweet mint tea being poured from glistening silver teapots, piles of fruit and vegetables opposite mounds of nougat and almond delicacies. Everywhere you look there is a feast for your senses. I just love it!
I have been travelling this route for years to buy spices, visit friends and for onward journeys in Morocco.
The very best way to experience Tangier is with a pre-booked local guide who will be waiting for you as soon as you clear customs. I have been working with the same guides for years and can assure you will be in great hands. Arranging this private tour through me, you will experience a cultural, not a carpet-shopping tour. I will provide you with my exceptionally well-researched list of places to visit, what to eat and what to look out for, as well as talking you through all the aspects of travelling to make sure your journey is hassle-free.
If you want to stay overnight in Tangier, I can recommend my favourite hotels and where to find a reviving G&T!
“Abdul, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. He took us to so many places and is so insightful. I cannot begin to describe how amazing this was. It was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much Annie”

“Thank you very much for organising our trip to Tangier. All a great success and Aziz was charming and lunch was out of this world! We probably needed a bit more time in the souk, but they can always go back another time! “Family Diamond, UK June 2017
